With the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive season starting back up soon, Avant Gaming have today announced changes to their active roster with the new addition of Hugh “HUGHMUNGUS” Anderson - Hugh was previously a long standing member of The Chiefs Esports Club’s roster.

Jyles Lulham, Team Manager at Avant Gaming, spoke to us about Hugh’s arrival to the team and the upcoming Counter-Strike season in Oceania.

“We’re really excited to be working with Hugh on our CS:GO roster. He’s been a perfect fit to the roster so far and a great addition to the gaming house. There’s a lot of coming up this month and I’m really excited to see how the new iteration of the team performs.” - Jyles Lulham, Team Manager at Avant Gaming.

Hugh arrives at his new team following a year and a half tenure with his previous team under both Genuine Gaming and The Chiefs Esports Club. For those who aren’t too familiar with the alias HUGHMUNGUS, he previously competed under the name “stat” for a long duration of his career.

Avant Gaming’s new arrival spoke to us about his thoughts towards joining this new roster and what challenges lay ahead for him and the team.

“I’m super excited to join and I’m most looking forward to challenging both Renegades and ORDER for the top spot in Oceania. It’s been a pretty smooth transition into the team as I’ve played with Euan (sterl1ng) and Pete (BL1TZ) in past teams.” - Hugh “HUGHMUNGUS” Anderson, Avant Gaming CS:GO Player.

Avant Gaming have been without a fifth for almost two months now after they parted ways with Chris “ofnu” Hanley back in June, but with the arrival of Hugh and the recently announced Perfect World Oceanic League fast approaching, the roster will no doubt be keen to get back into the server to compete.

In fact, we are likely to see the completed Avant Gaming roster competing in the Open Qualifiers for the Perfect World Oceanic League soon, where we will also likely see them qualify into the Closed Qualifier to compete against the top teams for a chance at November’s Rio Major.

With Hugh joining Avant Gaming, this is the first time we have seen him competing on a Top 3/4 team in this region since his arrival on the professional circuit. All eyes will be on him come August 28th when the team hopes to qualify into POL. If you wish to follow the teams progress, be sure to connect with Avant Gaming on Twitter.
