Today it has been announced via an NBL Twitch stream of the Perth Wildcats against the Brisbane Bullets, that Perth will be home to a new and exciting start-up esports brand, Pentanet.GG. Talks of a Perth esports brand making a bang in our ecosystem have swirled around for six months now, but today these rumors have officially become a reality.

Pentanet.GG's mission statement states "forge your career as an esports athlete with year-round competitions, and career guidance from industry professionals."

Alongside the announcement of this new and exciting brand, is the news that Pete Curulli, Game On AUS Podcast host and Radio Host of Perth's 92.9FM, will be spearheading the brand as it's General Manager. In an official statement made by Pentanet.GG, Pete stated "I was squarely focused on esports and gaming entertainment at the time, however when Stephen shared this vision with me, I saw how this could be a real benefit to the Australian esports scene," said Pete.

"For all of its maturity, the Australian esports market is still young. There's so much good that is being done, and Pentanet's dedication to bring its network and professional processes to the passion that players and viewers have for esports, gives the market an incredible opportunity to protect and nurture the scene," continued Pete.

"Our city has always been disadvantaged when it came to competitive gaming online, with the servers usually located in Asia or over in the east of Australia. Given Perth is the gateway exactly between Asia and the Eastern states, we recognize the opportunity as gamers to expand our network to these regions, turning Perth into the new centre of an Australasian esports network, while also operating the league that runs through it. We look forward to cultivating and elevating the next best gaming talent from here in WA, providing the right mentorship and guidance in how to conduct themselves as professional athletes," concluded Pete.

Pentanet.GG's logo will be first seen when the Perth Wildcats take on the Brisbane Bullets this afternoon at 4:30pm (AWST).
