Our Counter-Strike: Global Offensive panelists are:

1. Renegades (-)

“After not having a chance to play any official games for an extended period of time, Dexter led these boys through an almost flawless week for Road to Rio. Order certainly gave them a scare in the grand final, but their solid mental game allowed them to take the top spot after a spectacular comeback.
The question is; how much longer will we see the Renegades stay untouchable?”

- Geordie “Mac” McAleer

Recent Results:

  • 2:1 vs ORDER (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 2:0 vs Ground Zero (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 2:0 vs Chiefs (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 2:0 vs ORDER (ESL One R2R OCE)

Active Roster: dexter, sico, INS, malta and Hatz

2. Avant (-)

“After being robbed of a spot in Road to Rio, the rock solid performers from Avant have not had an opportunity to shine since the last season of ANZ Champs. I would like to see another chapter in their fierce rivalry with ORDER soon. Hopefully the upcoming ESL ANZ Champs can allow yet another battle between the two for the silver medal in the HTT power rankings”

- Geordie “Mac” McAleer

Recent Results:

  • 16:5 vs Overt (MDL S34)

  • 2:0 vs Ground Zero (DreamHack Masters Qual)

Active Roster: BL1TZ, HaZR, ap0c, ofnu and strerl1ng

3. ORDER (-)

“Order: Solid form with individuals looking consistent. Alistair's a mad man. Had the big dogs against the ropes but what can do against Johnny Tightlips (Dexter).
With more team synergy which comes from experience as a team and detailed discussions, better planned anti force buy rounds, faster T side reactions as a team after the initial kills occur in the round and some other stuff, the team will be looking jacked.”

- Ollie "DickStacy" Tierney

Recent Results:

  • 1:2 vs Renegades (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 2:0 Chiefs (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 2:0 Ground Zero (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 2:1 Chiefs (ESL One R2R OCE)

Active Roster: aliStair, Rickeh, USTILO, Valiance and J1rah

4. Chiefs (-)

“With a clean 2-0 over Ground Zero and a close series against ORDER, alongside a good start in MDL, Chiefs continue to be the team that just can’t seem to have all 5 members firing at one time. An emotion driven team, continued hard work will hopefully find themselves in a position where they are able to overcome these minor issues. If these guys can get that engine revving, I can see them repeating their iconic victory over Renegades, alongside providing a heftier challenge when facing up against Avant & ORDER”
- Mitch "Conky" Concanen

Recent Results:

  • 0:2 vs ORDER (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 0:2 vs Renegades (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 1:2 vs ORDER (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 2:0 vs Ground Zero (ESL One R2R OCE)

Active Roster: Jinxx, HUGHMUNGUS, apocdud, SkulL and Mayker

5. Ground Zero (+1)

“Sadly, one of the rosters original members Cooper ‘Void’ Farrell has left the server indefinitely amidst the Road to Rio tournament, and the boys are looking for a new 5th. The unfortunate knock-on effect here was that they put up some pretty poor results going out without a single map win, despite some big numbers from individual players. With some whispers around who they are trialling over the coming weeks, I have faith that Ground Zero will still continue to put up results in future. Cal ‘BURNRUOk’ Henderson is a fantastic leader, and I believe he still has what it takes to push these players higher in this list”

  • 0:2 vs ORDER (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 0:2 vs Renegades (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 0:2 vs Chiefs (ESL One R2R OCE)
  • 19:17 vs esea open (MDL S34)

Active Roster: bURNRUOk, PEARS, Llamas, Noobster and TBA

6. Rooster (-1)

“Another team that took a decent hit recently, we find Jake ‘ju1ces’ H leaving the roster under what hasn’t been fully explained outside of the inner circle. Fortunately for these boys, it has been quite a quick transition after they picked up Tyson ‘asap’ Paterson. A good clean in in the ESL ANZ Qualifiers 2-0ing Paradox twice, I still believe Rooster will continue to cause upsets. It’s been nice to see these players do so consistently well as of late, giving a platform for their star players to shine, and I don’t think it’ll be long until they take that 5th spot from Ground Zero again”

- Mitch "Conky" Concanen

Recent Results:

  • 2-0 vs Paradox (ESL AUNZ S11)
  • 2-0 vs Paradox (ESL AUNZ S11)
  • 16-4 vs Mako (MDL S34)
  • 16-7 vs Overt (MDL S34)

Active Roster: chelleos, ADK, DannyG, nettik and ASAP*

7. Paradox (-)

“Since the addition of Versa to the lineup, Paradox have been looking decent. Steadily going in the MDL league with their matches, but also qualifying into ESL ANZ Champs by defeating Overt does mean we will see Paradox compete against stronger teams soon, and hopefully they do well. This lineup under Paradox have always had strings of good results and not so good results, and I think ANZ Champs will be a good proving ground for the boys to see if they can turn more eyes their way. I will add though, the battle for this spot 7th spot is an interesting one between Paradox and TWA (ex-Airborne), and more games in the coming weeks may see a change”

Recent Results:

  • 0-2 vs Rooster (ESL AUNZ S11)
  • 2-0 vs Overt (ESL AUNZ S11)
  • 0-2 vs Rooster (ESL AUNZ S11)
  • 10-16 vs Bantz (MDL S34)

Active Roster: urbz, ino, ekul, versa and bedonka

8. TWA (-)**

“Since their departure from the organisation 'Airborne', we have only seen TWA in the MDL League at the present time, and they are having results in the winning department. Looking deeper into it, TWA are yet to face the stronger teams in our region, so they may be in for a surprise (just like against 'esea open') when they look to battle it out against the upper teams. The boys still seem to be having good performances, although in the server it is hard to remember who is who, given their interesting aliases in game.”

- Dion “Komodo” Pirotta

Recent Results:

  • 16-10 vs Incept (MDL S34)
  • 16-7 vs Skyfire (MDL S34)
  • 16-4 vs PC419 (MDL S34)
  • 8-16 vs esea open (MDL S34)

Active Roster: pz, smooth_crim, JD, BRACE and swede

9. Skyfire (-)***

“The boys from isleep have finally found themselves a new home, and with anew 5th, things were looking up to start the ESEA MDL season for Moey and the boys, racking up consecutive wins to get out the gates. This burst of supposed form lasted for just that, succumbing to back to back loses against PC419, and TWA, which saw an outburst from in game leader MoeyCQ on twitter (That was quickly removed), and a break from socials from the veteran.

They’ll have little time to recover with a forthcoming matchup vs Overt on the cards before they’ll run into OCE heavyweights in Chiefs and Avant.”

- Matthew “mattyB” Bowerman

Recent Results:

  • 16-14 vs Overt (MDL S34)
  • 7-16 vs Shidiots (MDL S34)
  • 14-16 vs PC419 (MDL S34)
  • 16-6 vs Justice (MDL S34)

Active Roster: Moey, Noisia, tot, Chub and Dirty

10. Incept (New)

“They finished off last season of MDL play quite poorly, but after a convincing run through relegation to maintain their place in the league, and the recent acquisition of Zeph and YourWombat to their pre-existing core, this lineup is one of those to watch in the coming months, opening their account up with a hard fought win Vs Fury, and tight loss to The Chiefs.
It’ll be exciting to see just how well a player with the level of class Zeph possesses can help develop a side oozing with potential.”

- Matthew “mattyB” Bowerman
